sarkas.tools.observables.calculate_herm_coeff(v, distribution, maxpower)[source]#

Calculate Hermite coefficients by integrating the velocity distribution function. That is

\[\begin{split}a_i = \int_{-\\infty}^{\infty} dv \, He_i(v)f(v)\end{split}\]
Parameters
  • v (numpy.ndarray) – Range of velocities.

  • distribution (numpy.ndarray) – Velocity histogram.

  • maxpower (int) – Hermite order

Returns

coeff (numpy.ndarray) – Coefficients \(a_i\)
